Lorsque Jeanine Añez - l'ancienne présidente par intérim de la Bolivie - s'est fait arrêtée le 13 mars, elle a osé répliqué que le gouvernement bolivien ne souhaitait qu'une chose : montrer qu'il peut intimider et emprisonner qui il veut. Je ne pense pas qu'il soit exagéré d'estimer que c'était plutôt gonflé de sa part. Puisque cet évènement (qui remonte à 2019) a été relativement noyé dans l'immédiat, j'ai voulu en retracer la chronologie et expliquer les différents enjeux qui se sont joués là-bas.
Il y a beaucoup d'information, certes. Ce qu'il faut surtout retenir, c'est qu'il n'a pas fallu grand chose pour élever au pouvoir l'élite réactionnaire du pays. Cette idée que l'ancien président, Evo Morales, ait pu fraudé lors du scrutin de 2019, la presse internationale l'a véhiculé et a ainsi légitimé, du moins au départ, ce coup d'Etat. Personne n'a pris en compte les réalités géographiques du pays. L'OEA, l'Organisation des Etats Américains, en charge d'observer le bon déroulé des élections présidentielles, s'est bien foiré aussi.

When Jeanine Añez - the former interim president in Bolivia - got arrested in March, 13th, she has dared riposte that Bolivian government only wished for one thing : to show that it can intimidate and incarcerate whoever he wants. I don't believe that it's exaggerated to think that, coming from her, that's rich. Because this event (which goes back to 2019) has been quite drowned into hard news, I wanted to redraw the chronology of it and to expose the different issues that has been raised over that time.
There's a lot of information, I admit that. What needs especially to be remembered is that the reactionary elite didn't need much to achieve power. The very idea that Evo Morales, the former president, could have committed fraud during the elections of 2019 has been driven by the international press. Therefore, it has legitimated, at least initially, the coup. No one took into account the geographic realities of Bolivia. Even the OAS (the Organisation of American States) - in charge of observing the good execution of those elections, fucked it up.
